Manny Ramirez says he’s to blame for controversial exit from Red Sox

Manny Ramirez(notes) says he takes the blame for his acrimonious exit from the Boston Red Sox in 2008.
"I think everything was my fault," Ramirez said Friday, football jersey
according to ESPNBoston.com. "But, hey, you've got to be a real man to realize when you do wrong. Hey, it was my fault. I'm already past that stage and I'm happy with my new team."
Ramirez, who joined the Chicago White Sox this week on a waiver claim, is back in Boston for the second time this season. After Friday's game was postponed due to Hurricane Earl, the slugger talked to the press and admitted he handled the end of his Red Sox career badly.
The Red Sox traded Ramirez, who helped lead them to World Bears jersey
Series titles in 2004 and 2007, to the Dodgers at the trade deadline two years ago in a three-way deal. His last weeks in Boston were marked by controversy as it became clear he was unhappy and wanted out.
Among other things, Ramirez scuffled with teammate Kevin Youkilis(notes) in the Boston dugout. He said he apologized to Youkilis when the Dodgers played in Boston in June, according to the ESPNBoston.com report.
"When I went to first base and saw Youkilis, I said, 'Hey, what happened between you and me, I'm sorry. That's my fault.' So it takes a real man just to go and tell a person it was my fault. That's what I did."
In other Manny news, Ramirez had his signature dreadlocksPanthers jersey
cut by exactly 99 millimeters, in honor of his uniform number. The White Sox have personal appearance standards.
